■ What is Kagunomi?

In both Nihon Shoki and Kojiki, ancient books of classical Japanese history and myths, there is a story about Tajimamori who was ordered by a legendary Emperor Suinin to travel to the kingdom of immortality, called Toyo no Kuni, to find a magical fruit of life: Tokijiku no Kagu no Konomi, which was supposed to save the life of the Emperor.Nihon Shoki (The Chronicles of Japan)

Tokijiku no Kagu no Konomi means "a fragrant fruit which can prolong somebody’s life". It was supposed to be a fruit which spreads a scent for a long time and is said to be the symbol of eternity.

After many struggles, Tajimamori finally obtained the fruit of live (Tokijiku no Kagu no Konomi), but when he returned the Emperor had already passed away.
It was said that Tajimamori with a great sadness offered the fruit at the emperor’s tomb and then died.

People who were touched by the loyalty of Tajimamori started to call the fruit of life with the word Tachibana, to honor the devotion of Tajimamori.

This fragrant product has been named Kagunomi, which is derived from the original name of the fruit - Tokijiku no Kagu no Konomi, and which can be translated as "the fragrance of the fruit".
The fragrance has been created to express the aroma of Tachibana Citrus.
The fragrance of citrus fruits is gently refreshing, loosens the tension from the mind and the body. It is also said that its fragrance helps to relax well.

■ How to enjoy the Kagunomi stand
