Since XVI century the combination of growing skills in making fine Incenses and the depth of Japanese confectionery has created delicate Katachiko (Shaped Incense) stands. Incense Craftsman using the unique Nippon Kodo`s designs has created every single Katachiko by hand in wooden molds. That is exactly why there might be slight differences both in size and weight. Those Katachiko are filled with warmth that is unique only to those articles which are hand made. Kagunomi In both Nihon shoki and Kojiki, old books of classical Japanese history and myths, there is a story about Tajimamori who was ordered by legendary Emperor Suinin to travel to the kingdom of immortality, called Toyo no kuni to find a magical fruit of life: Tokijiku no kagu no konomi, which was supposed to save the life of the Emperor. Tokijiku no kagu no konomi means "fragrant fruit which can prolong somebody’s life". It was supposed to be a fruit which spreads a scent for a long time and is said to be the symbol of eternity. After many struggles, Tajimamori finally obtained the fruit of live (Tokijiku no kagu no konomi), but when he returned Emperor already passed away. It was said that Tajimamori with great sadness offered the fruit at the emperor’s tomb and then died. People who were struck by the loyalty of Tajimamori started to call the fruit of life ? Tachibana, to honor the devotion of Tajimamori. This fragrant product has been named Kagunomi, which is derived from the original name of the fruit - Tokijiku no kagu no konomi, and which can be translated as *the fragrance of fruit*. The fragrance has been created in the image of Tachibana Citrus. The fragrance of citrus fruits is gently refreshing, loosens the tension from the mind and the body. It is also said that its fragrance helps greatly with the relaxation.
